Preston Exchange Women’s Network PEN

Preston Exchange Women’s Network (PEN) was established over 25 years ago and aims to bring together ladies who are in business locally. A range of events are organised by Gill Graveson of Birchall Blackburn Law in Avenham Street, Preston and tend to take place six times a year at various locations and combine lunch with business networking opportunities.

The latest event was a guided tour including the history of Avenham and Miller Park led by Alan, now retired, who was a groundsman for over 50 years on the parks.

Vicky Keelan of Gainsborough Flooring who has been a member of the network since 2013 commented, “It was extremely fascinating and I’d recommended it to anyone who is interested in the local area. We are so lucky to have stunning parks with such rich history on our doorstep. It was fantastic of Gill to organise this tour and everyone there was absolutely amazed to learn some very intriguing facts about the park as well as the local area.”

Anyone interested in having a tour should contact the park rangers who are responsible for everything from practical conservation work, to environmental education, working with local communities and organising events and activities.
