A gorgeous and very rewarding project we recently delivered for a client after they had undertaken a major refurbishment of their entire home, meant we were able to be creative in our approach whilst also considering all the practicalities.
Flooring was required for the entirety of the property with two bedrooms on the top floor, the stairs and landing, plus the complete ground floor incorporating the lounge, kitchen, dining room, hallway and toilet.
Our client was familiar with our service, having played rugby with our very own Eddy Brown for many years. Following numerous productive meetings to discuss ideas for each space and establishing the style and colourways the client was considering we came up with various options for them to contemplate.
For the bedrooms, the landing and stairs the client opted for Cormar Sensation Heather Bergen Frost.
With a dense, thick and soft pile, the Bergen Frost Sensation Heather Carpet adds a cosy and relaxing feel to any room.
The distinctive flecked pile uses two shades of grey in its 2-ply Saxony tufts to create a great looking carpet that works well with many room styles and furnishings. The heathered colour can help reduce the appearance of foot marks, which is ideal for well used areas.
Eddy Brown, Contracts Manager at Gainsborough Flooring commented, “One of the challenges our team faced was to get the carpet upstairs to the bedroom, as we weren’t able to get it through the front door, up the stairs and around the corner to the master bedroom. We therefore had to lift the carpet to the second storey of the house and post it through the balcony doors. That might sound simple but it took five of the team to get it up there!”
For the ground floor, which incorporated the lounge, kitchen, dining area, hallway and small toilet, our client selected Amtico Form Parquet Rural Oak.
The Amtico Form Parquet Rural Oak is an elegantly textured luxury vinyl tile (LVT). With its gloriously golden, honey-toned oak, it creates a warm and welcoming space and can be used in a range of laying pattern configurations, creating a unique space.

The client has received tremendous feedback from family and friends visiting their home who have been more than impressed at the incredible transformation the flooring makes to the space. It even works perfectly for dogs with mucky paws!
